For over 40 years, we have been organizing active travel by foot, bike, or kayak to the four corners of the globe. Step by step, we have built a collective of enthusiasts who create, guide and offer our travelers adventures that leave a lasting impression on their lives. Our goal? To inspire our travelers to go beyond their everyday lives and actively participate in the discovery of remarkable natural places. What makes us different? We organize our own trips, without intermediaries, in more than 30 countries: thanks to our own local agencies, we have complete control over our travelers’ experience and guarantee them the highest possible quality.

Meet the team
Jean-Marie Rannou
Director of Altaï DMC
Born in Brittany, Jean-Marie embodies a spirit of adventure and a love for the great outdoors. His remarkable journey began in the Sahara in the early 2000s, where he worked as a logistician and guide for various DMCs. Winters were spent navigating the vast Saharan desert, while summers were filled with the thrill of exploring the Balkans. In 2006, he joined the Altaï Group in Paris as a guide and trainer for international teams. By 2008, his skills and vision drove him to the role of Operations Manager, where he led the launch and growth of DMCs in the Polar Regions, Europe, and the Middle East. His insatiable thirst for development took him to the Americas and Asia, ultimately leading him to run DMCs in the breathtaking Himalayas, vibrant Southeast Asia, Central America, and the Caribbean. Since 2021, Jean-Marie has inspired others as the Director of Altaï DMC, passionately driving global expansion and the growth of the DMC network, and shaping unforgettable experiences along the way.

 | Lola Chrétien, Regional DMC Manager – North America lola.c@altai-dmc.com After traveling around the globe, Lola found her heart in Canada and has embraced it ever since. The breathtaking landscapes, vast natural beauty, rich diversity, and the warm welcome of its people inspired her to finally settle down. Lola has extensive experience in the tourism sector. She began working at 18, moving through production, marketing, and sales roles. She has almost ten years of experience as a Travel Expert, first focusing on destinations in the Pacific area and later on Canada. Lola joined Altaï DMC Canada in 2019, initially as a Travel Expert and then as Sales Manager. In 2023, she officially takes over responsibility for the DMC in Montreal and oversees Canada and the USA. |
 | Ivan Barba, Regional DMC Manager – Central America & Caribbean ivan.b@altai-dmc.com With 20 years of experience as a guide and over 10 years leading Altaï DMC Office in Havana, Ivan now embraces the role of overseeing the Central America and Caribbean region. The adventures he crafts transcend the mere exploration of breathtaking mountains and magnificent city architecture; they invite travelers to connect with the remarkable people who embody the true spirit and charm of his country. |
 | Stéphane Dubois, Regional DMC Manager – South America stephane.d@altai-dmc.com After dedicating his career to air transportation for a tour operator specializing in adventure tourism, Stephane embraced the opportunity to manage a DMC in Argentina for five years. Immersing himself in the breathtaking trails of Patagonia, the Atacama, and other remote areas, he continued his journey by moving to Chile, eager to deepen his adventure in South America. In 2016, he joined Altaï DMC, determined to leverage his expertise and experience to foster the growth of DMCs in the vibrant Spanish-speaking world. |

Rajeev Shakya Regional DMC Manager – Asia & Middle East Hailing from Nepal, Rajeev embarked on his journey with Altaï as a travel advisor in 2010. With two years of sales experience under his belt, he seized the opportunity to become a production manager, fulfilling his dream of crafting new travel inspirations. His path then led him to operations, where he now oversees our DMCs in Asia and the Middle East. Rajeev’s mission is to ensure that every journey is not just unique but truly unforgettable |

Nicolas Bichet, Regional DMC Manager – Northern Europe nicolas.b@altai-dmc.com Nicolas, originally from Bourgogne, has always had a passion for travel and outdoor living. He studied biology and ecology with a focus on nature management and conservation, while also training to become a mountain guide and sea kayaking instructor. After completing an internship in a national park in Quebec, he moved to Banff to explore the Canadian Rockies, and later traveled to the American West and Alaska. Throughout his career, Nicolas has lived in Canada, France, Svalbard, and the American West. He began his career in 2012 as a guide in Svalbard and eventually became the base manager for Norway, Svalbard, Sweden, and Finland. He now oversees the management of all our Northern European DMCs. |

Danilo, Regional DMC Manager – Europe danilo.c@altai-dmc.com Danilo’s journey began in the dynamic realms of marketing and sales before he embraced the world of tourism in 2007. With a wealth of experience as a mountain guide and tour leader, he ascended to the role of director at Altaï DMC Italia. Now, as the head of both Altaï DMC Italia and Altaï DMC Sicilia, he channels his deep passion for his Sicilian roots and traditions, infusing his work with authenticity and rich local knowledge. Under his inspiring leadership, travelers are guaranteed exceptional, culturally immersive experiences that resonate throughout Italy. |

Quentin Beauvy, Regional DMC Manager – France quentin.b@altai-dmc.com Driven by a deep passion for nature and the wilderness, Quentin has spent his life exploring majestic mountain ranges. With a decade of experience leading and designing adventures in polar regions, he now guides the Alps operations for Altaï DMC and its mountaineering trips. The dedicated team of this local agency, based in Chamonix, is committed to inspiring active exploration of the breathtaking French mountain ranges and natural areas through hiking, skiing, and mountaineering adventures. |
